I've always wanted to try riding a fixie so when I found this professionally ridden keirin frame at the bi-annual sekidobashi flea market in tokyo I decided to give it a build. For a type of bike that prides itself on it's simplicity, it actually took a lot of running around finding the proper parts for it. Plus, I didn't want to blow my knees out so I installed some clamp on brakes on the front. I know a lot has been written about riding fixies already, so I won't say much more than it's a feeling akin to running. As for the bike, the track geometry and hand-brazed steel frame give it a very lively, "springy" feel and now the bike I built out of curiosity has become a stable of my fleet.
